ROGGBIF explores the intersection of craft and technology, presenting a series of 24 wooden stools that challenge conventional woodwork aesthetics. In this exhibition, we introduce a new, exploratory colouring process that transforms natural wood into vibrant yet functional pieces. Through a wide range of different shapes and joinery, we explore the possibilities of this new approach. The name ROGGBIF is a nod to the color spectrum and the vibrant hues that now adorn these wooden creations. Using an innovative method involving vacuum technology and specialized pigments, the studio has developed a technique that allows colors to fully penetrate the wood's fibers, resulting in rich, lasting finishes that maintain the natural texture of the material. The exhibition runs from the 7th until the 15th of September, 2024, at gallery Sorgenfri in Oslo.
